Tobey Maguire's production shingle is set to develop the Atlantic Monthly article "Marry Him! The Case for Settling for Mr. Good Enough" into a feature film.

According to Variety, Warner Independent and Maguire Productions have acquired Lori Gottlieb's March article, which she's turning into the book "Marry Him! Finding Mr. Real."

A regular NPR commentator, Gottlieb is a 40-year-old single mother whose baby was conceived via sperm donation. Her article is about exactly what you'd think it's about based on its title.

Or, as she puts it, "My advice is this: Settle! That's right. Don't worry about passion or intense connection. Don't nix a guy based on his annoying habit of yelling 'Bravo!' in movie theaters. Overlook his halitosis or abysmal sense of aesthetics. Because if you want to have the infrastructure in place to have a family, settling is the way to go. Based on my observations, in fact, settling will probably make you happier in the long run, since many of those who marry with great expectations become more disillusioned with each passing year."

Maguire, last seen on the big screen in "Spider-Man 3" and "The Good German," next stars in "Brothers."

In recent weeks, Maguire Prods. has been attached to the comic book "Afterburn" and the spec script "Hungry Rabbit Jumps." The company has also been developing an adaptation of the anime favorite "Robotech."
