Plus, Tobey Maguire tests 'The Limit'

Matthew McConaughey is going to court and Tobey Maguire is going for the checkered flag.

McConaughey will play the title role in an adaptation of Michael Connelly's 2005 novel "The Lincoln Lawyer," according to Variety. No, it's not a celebration of Abe's 200th: The story follows a criminal defense attorney whose latest client may just be guilty... and may also be guilty of a crime the lawyer's previous client was found guilty of.

Also racing back into theaters is Tobey Maguire, who will star in the based-on-true-events Grand Prix story "The Limit." Maguire will play a driver who must race against a former friend.

McConaughey, 39, stars in this year's "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past." Maguire, 33, was last seen in 2007's "Spider-Man 3."
