Sam Mendes will transition after finishing 'Revolutionary Road'
Set up at Focus Features, the original script focuses on an expectant couple who travel the country looking for a place to settle down and start their family.

Credits for Eggers include the acclaimed memoir "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius," while Vida's novels include "Let the Northern Lights Erase Your Name" and "And Now You Can Go."
A celebrated theater director before picking up an Oscar for "American Beauty," Mendes' latest big screen credits include "Road to Perdition" and "Jarhead." He'll begin shooting the Focus comedy after completing post-production on an adaptation of "Revolutionary Road," reteaming "Titanic" stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
