Baby was born in Los Angeles

Another celebrity couple has had a child.

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber welcomed their first child, a boy, on Thursday, July 26 in Los Angeles, reports People.

The boy, who's been named Alexander Pete Schreiber, weight 8 lbs., 4 ox. at birth.

Speculation about Watts' delicate condition sprang up earlier in the year when some reports pointed out her rounded belly and then later, when she showed up in an empire waist gown that camouflaged her thickening waistline at the Oscars. Schreiber confirmed the happy news on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien."

Watts, 38, had previously dated fellow Aussie Heath Ledger, who has a baby now with his "Brokeback Mountain" co-star Michelle Williams. Watts began dating Schreiber, 39, in 2005, and they recently starred in "The Painted Veil" together. There has been no word about marriage plans.

Watts starred in "King Kong," "The Ring" and "21 Grams." Schreiber's film credits include "The Manchurian Candidate," "Scream 3" and the remake of "The Omen." He next stas in the adaptation of "Love in the Time of Cholera." He also recently appeared in a recurring guest role on "CSI."
