Quentin Tarantino is looking to enlist a star-writer-producer from NBC's "The Office" for his "Inglorious Bastards" cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, B.J. Novak is the latest actor in talks to play a soldier in Tarantino's Nazi-fighting World War II adventure.

Novak is best known for his on-camera role as Ryan on "The Office," but he's also a member of the comedy's writing staff and, most recently, a co-executive producer.

The trade paper notice on Novak's casting comes one day after "Hostel" writer-director Eli Roth was attached to the production.

"Inglorious Bastards" writer-director-producer Tarantino has, of course, been known to dabble a little bit in acting as well, which may explain his affinity for people involved in all parts of the process.

The only other actor currently linked to the film is Brad Pitt, who apparently remains in talks to play Aldo Raine, the leader of the group of Jewish-American soldiers on a revenge mission in Nazi-occupied France.

A Universal and Weinstein Company co-production, "Inglorious Bastards" will begin shooting in Europe this fall.
