Ellen Page Raises 'Hell' for Sam Raimi
'Drag Me to Hell' will precede 'Whip It' on Page's schedule
Don't bother asking what "Drag Me to Hell" is about, because The Hollywood Reporter will only say that the project is based on a script Raimi wrote with his brother Ivan.
Set to begin production in Los Angeles on March 17, "Hell" will be produced through Raimi's Ghost House shingle and distributed by Universal.
Ghost House has produced a number of successful genre efforts including "30 Days of Night" and the two "Grunge" films, this will be Raimi's first directing effort for the shingle and his first helming project since "Spider-Man 3."
After generating buzz with "Hard Candy" and box office success with the third "X-Men" movie, Page broke out last fall with her lauded starring role in the comedy "Juno." The young actress will follow "Drag Me to Hell" with "Whip It," a roller derby pic that will mark Drew Barrymore's directorial debut.
