"Entourage" co-star's got "The Goods"

Paramount Vantage has given a greenlight to "The Goods: The Don Ready Story," a high concept comedy set to star Emmy winner Jeremy Piven.

The comedy, directed by Neal Brennan, will be the studio's first film under its fresh deal with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Prods.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Rick Stempson and Andy Stock-scripted feature focuses on a legendary used car liquidator recruited to save one struggling dealership over a Fourth of July weekend.

Production is expected to begin in December.

The writers have "Gary the Tennis Coach" set up with star Seann William Scott at GreeneStreet Films, while the director co-created "Chappelle's Show."

An Emmy winner as super-agent Ari Gold on HBO's "Entourage," Piven was most recently seen (though not by many people) in the comedies "Keeping Up with the Steins" and "Smokin' Aces." He has "The Kingdom" set for release this fall and he just completed work on Guy Ritchie's "RocknRolla."
