Mary Lynn Rajskub joins Amy Adams and Meryl Streep in 'Julia and Julia'

Mary Lynn Rajskub will join Amy Adams and Meryl Streep in Columbia Pictures' "Julie and Julia."

Adams plays Julie Powell, author of "Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen."

Powell's book focused on a one-year project to cook all 524 recipes in "Mastering the Art of French Cooking." Powell, a frustrated temp at the time, blogged on her quest.

In addition to covering Powell's journey, the film will cover autobiographical elements from Child's life, according to The Hollywood Reporter. That explains how Streep will play the famous chef, with Stanley Tucci appearing as her husband.

The trade paper says that Rajskub will play Powell's best friend Helen. Expect lots of sarcasm to ensue.

The since-settled writers strike led to a lengthy gap between the sixth and seventh seasons of "24," denying viewers the tart awkwardness of Rajskub's Chloe. The FOX drama is set to return next January.
