Big Easy fairy tale will include Randy Newman songs

Anika Noni Rose will voice the lead character in the Disney animated feature "The Princess and the Frog."

Set in New Orleans, the Disney Animation release is an original story from "Aladdin" vets John Musker and Ron Clements. Rose will voice Tiana, a princess living in the French Quarter.

Set for a holiday 2009 release, "The Princess and the Frog" will include original songs and score by Randy Newman.

The musical numbers shouldn't cause a problem for Rose, who won a Tony for "Caroline, or Change" before appearing as Lorrell Robinson in last year's Oscar-winning "Dreamgirls."

Rose, who also appeared in a little musical feature called "From Justin to Kelly," will next be seen in the USA Network miniseries "The Starter Wife."
