Actor joins 'Wedding Crashers' actress Isla Fisher

Ryan Reynolds may have recently ended his engagement to Alanis Morisette, but he's still up for a little romance.

The "Van Wilder" actor has signed on for the romantic comedy "Definitely, Maybe" opposite Isla Fisher, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Universal Pictures project revolves around a political consultant who's on the way to finalizing his divorce. His ability to spin is seriously tested when his 11-year-old daughter inquires about his promiscuous past.

Derek Luke is in talks to join the project, which is written and directed by "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" scribe Adam Brooks.

Reynolds' film credits include "The In-Laws," "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle," "Blade: Trinity," "The Amityville Horror" update and "Just Friends." He next appears in Joe Carnahan's ensemble mob comedy-drama "Smokin' Aces," which will be released in 2007. The 29-year-old recently wrapped "The Nine" and "Chaos Theory."

Fisher, 30, affianced to "Ali G" star Sacha Baron Cohen, became a breakout star as the crazy sister in "Wedding Crashers."
