Bryan Singer to produce 'Capeshooters' for Warner Bros.

Bryan Singer is in negotiations to produce "Capeshooters," a superhero project set up at Warner Bros.

According to the industry trades, Warner Bros. acquired the upcoming Rob Liefeld graphic novel for Singer's Bad Hat Harry production banner, making the announcement on the eve of San Diego's Comic-Con.

Singer is expected to produce, but not direct.

J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani are attached to adapt the property, which focuses on a pair of paparazzi videographers whose lives become problematic when they capture footage revealing the dark nature of a popular superhero.

Singer won't have to prove his bona fides to comic book fans. The "Usual Suspects" director's superhero credits include the first two "X-Men" movies and 2006's "Superman Returns." His next film, "Valkyrie," opens next spring.
