Spike Lee Raises 'Hell'
Will direct adaptation of World War II story
Lee, through production company 40 Acres and a Mule, has purchased the rights to "Now the Hell Will Start," according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Hell," a 2008 nonfiction book from journalist Brendan Koerner, relates the experiences of Hermany Perry. Perry, an African-American soldier, went AWOL in India after killing a white lieutenant. He eventually settled with the local Naga tribesmen.
"Hell" is Lee's second World War II film; his "Miracle at St. Anna" hit theaters in 2008.
