Brittany Murphy Joins 'The Expendables' Cast
'Sin City' star in the fold with action film royalty
Murphy, whose last films include 2006's "Sin City" and "Happy Feet," will play Mickey Rourke's girlfriend -- a singer.
The dude from "Dexter" -- David Zayas will also be a part of the Nu Image/Millennium Films feature, as a South American dictator who has a group of mercenaries gunning to overthrow him.
Zayas was last seen on the big screen in 2006's "16 Blocks."
The actors are in good company on the picture. Stallone wrote and will direct the pic, while Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham and wrestler Randy Couture co-star.
Statham was last seen in "Transporter 3" can be seen in "Crank: High Voltage" April 17.
Li last appeared in "The Forbidden Kingdom" and "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" in 2008.
The team may still be joined by Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker, who would be an agent overseeing the soldiers of fortune, according to the The Hollywood Reporter. Whitaker can next be seen this October in a big-screen version of the classic Maurice Sendak book "Where the Wild Things Are."
