Tom Cruise May Lace up for 'Food Fight'
Actor is only 'loosely attached' to play an NYC chef
The actor is loosely attached to the culinary comedy "Food Fight," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Food Fight" -- not to be confused with the yet to be released animated "Foodfight!" about talking grocery store items voiced by the likes of Hilary and Haylie Duff -- centers on a snooty New York chef (Cruise) who must slum it when he's assigned to cook meals at a school cafeteria.
"Definitely, Maybe" writer/director Adam Brooks is attached to write the screenplay. The project has yet to hire a director.
Cruise, 46, appears as an overweight studio executive in "Tropic Thunder," which opens nationwide on Wednesday, Aug. 13. After that he'll star in the distinctly less humorous "Valkyrie," in which he plays the Nazi commander who plotted to kill Hitler.
