Release dates set for next two 'Twilight' movies

LOS ANGELES -- This November, hordes of "Twilight" fans will be rushing back into theaters on Nov. 20 for the sequel "New Moon." Friday, Summit Entertainment announced that the third installment, "Eclipse," will be released seven months later on June 30, 2010.

No director has been announced for "Eclipse," but Entertainment Weekly reports that since "New Moon" will be in post-production when "Eclipse" will be shooting, Chris Weitz will not be able to do both. "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke was replaced with Weitz when she said that the quick turnaround Summit Entertainment wanted for the second film was not enough time.

Jacob Black, a minor role in the first "Twilight" movie is the central character in "New Moon" as he becomes not only a werewolf but a romantic rival to vampire Edward for Bella's affections. In "Eclipse," the love triangle continues as the stakes are raised and Bella ultimately has to choose between the two boys.
