Actor will make good on millions he owes

"Blade" star Wesley Snipes doesn't intend to evade the law for long.

The actor, who is currently filming in Namibia, has reached a settlement with the Internal Revenue Service regarding his tax fraud charges, report news sources.

The agreement will allow Snipes to stay out of jail and continue to work in exchange for surrendering to authorities once he returns to the U.S. in December. He will then begin a payment plan for the millions of dollars he owes for back taxes.

The actor is wanted on an indictment that alleges he filed false refund claims of about $12 million and failed to file tax returns for six years. Before cutting his deal, he would have faced a maximum of 16 years in prison if convicted on all counts.

Snipes is in Namibia filming "Gallowwalker," a horror-western in which he plays a gunman whose victims return from the dead. The project is shooting in the desert close to where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were hiding out for the birth of their child in May. Namibia does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S.
