Will co-star alongside Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett

William Hurt must have a thing for taking on heroes in green.

Hurt, who co-starred as semi-nemesis General Ross in " The Incredible Hulk," has signed on to Russell Crowe's untitled Robin Hood movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hurt will play the Earl of Pembroke, a potential rival for the green-clad outlaw.

Crowe signed on in the title role, with Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian.

Hurt, 59, recently starred in the second season of "Damages."
