Kevin Smith's 'Porno' Dodges NC-17 Rating
'Zack and Miri Make a Porno' gets an R rating without any cuts
Kevin Smith's new film may have the word "porno" in its title, but the raunchy comedy has still managed to secure an R-rating.Just weeks after revealing that "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" would be saddled with the ultra-restrictive NC-17 designation, the MPAA has heard an appeal on the comedy and delivered the softer rating.
According to media reports no cuts were made to the comedy, which stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks as long-time friends and roommates who decide the best way to get out of debt is to make an adult movie.
"Zack and Miri" will open on Oct. 31. An NC-17 rating would have complicated The Weinstein Company's plans to distribute and advertise the movie.
