ABC once again did its "Mominees" red carpet segment, where it showed pre-taped interviews with the moms of various nominees. Among the big-name moms were Melissa McCarthy's mom Sandy and George Clooney's mom Nina. Nina surprised us a bit when she said of George's "Descendants" role: "It was a performance I wasn't aware he could give."

And after the tape rolled, Melissa and Sandy were there on the red carpet together, crying. *sniffle*
