Recent article 'Mystery on Fifth Avenue' is set up through Bad Robot and Paramount

Paramount Pictures has acquired the New York Times article "Mystery on Fifth Avenue" as a production vehicle for J.J. Abrams.

According to the industry trades, Abrams' Bad Robot shingle has already tapped Maya Forbes and Wally Wolodarsky to adapt reporter Penelope Green's article, which ran last week in the Times.

The story focused on Steven Klinsky and Maureen Sherry, who redecorated their $8.5 million apartment to include an elaborate scavenger hunt for their four kids. Their architectural designer built a series of puzzles and mysteries into the apartment, even including a soundtrack.

Abrams' most recent production was the winter monster hit "Cloverfield." Bad Robot is developing a number of addition projects, including "Morning Glory" and "Hot for Teacher," while Abrams is working in post-production on his upcoming "Star Trek" reboot.
