Indie Actress Shelly Found Dead
She was 40 years old
Her huband Andy Ostroy discovered her body on Wednesday (Nov. 1) evening, report new sources. Autopsy results are pending to determine the cause of death, although some police officers have deemed it an apparent suicide.
Born Adrienne Levine in Queens, Shelly began her career with the Hartley films "The Unbelievable Truth" and "Trust." Her other film credits include "Hexed," "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," "Sleeping With Strangers," "Grind" and 2005's "Factotum" opposite Matt Dillon, Lili Taylor and Marisa Tomei.
She also wrote and directed films, including "Sudden Manhattan" and "I'll Take You There." Her latest effort, "Waitress," stars Keri Russell, Jeremy Sisto and Nathan Fillion. The film has yet to be released.
Shelly also appeared on the small screen on "Homicide: Life on the Street," "Early Edition," "Oz" and "Law & Order."
The 40-year-old actress and her husband had a 3-year-old daughter, Sophie.
