Ben Affleck, prepping for the release of his directorial debut, will go back in front of the camera for the ensemble "He's Just Not That Into You."

The Ken Kwapis-directed ensemble already features Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scarlett Johansson and Justin Long. Production on the New Line film will begin next month in Los Angeles.

Based on the bestseller by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo, the film looks at a number of different relationships characterized by poor communication and people just not being that into each other.

Affleck will, presumably, play one of the guys who's not that into you.

More specifically, The Hollywood Reporter says that Affleck will the commitment-shy boyfriend to Aniston's character.

The trade paper also adds that Kris Kristofferson ("Blade," "A Star Is Born") will play Aniston's father.

Affleck most recently co-wrote and directed an adaptation of Dennis Lehane's "Gone Baby Gone," which will be released this fall. An Oscar winner for "Good Will Hunting," Affleck's last acting turns were a cameo in "Smokin' Aces" and a Golden Globe nominated supporting performance in "Hollywoodland."
