Mischa Barton Shows 'Sophomore' Class
Rumer Willis and Bruce Willis co-star
Logically retitled from the previous "Assassination of a High School President," "The Sophomore" marks the feature writing debut for Tim Caplin and Kevin Jakubowski and the feature directing debut for music video vet Brett Simon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Barton will play the queen bee at a Catholic high school. She encourages an impressionable sophomore guy to investigate the recent theft of the SAT exam, but he reports that two high profile seniors are involved. That leads down darker paths.
Rumer Willis will play the sidekick for Barton's character, while Bruce Willis will play the school principal, a character the trade paper describes as "a Desert Storm veteran who can't let go of his glory days in Kuwait."
Still best known as Marissa Cooper from "The O.C.," Barton just signed on for the Roland Joffe-directed drama "Finding t.A.T.u." She has a number of films in the can including "Closing the Ring," the frequently retitled "Virgin Territory" (formerly "Decameron") and "Don't Fade Away."
Rumer Willis' last major movie roles were opposite Bruce in "Hostage" and with mother Demi Moore in "Striptease."
Willis will next be seen in the upcoming "Live Free or Die Hard."
