'Arrested' Reunion for 'Juno'
Bateman and Janney join dark comedy
Jason Bateman has been added to the cast of Fox Searchlight's dark comedy "Juno," setting up a reunion of sorts with his "Arrested Development" son Michael Cera.
Also new to the cast of the Jason Reitman-directed film is Emmy winner Allison Janney.
"Juno" stars Ellen Page ("Hard Candy") as a high school girl who has to face an unplanned pregnancy. Cera plays the girl's best friend (and the guy responsible for the pregnancy), while Bateman will play the husband of a woman (Jennifer Garner) hoping to adopt the baby. Janney will play the main character's stepmother.
Diablo Cody wrote "Juno," which is currently shooting in Vancouver.
Bateman, most recently seen in "Smokin' Aces," has "The Kingdom" and "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" on tap.
The 2007 slate for former "West Wing" co-star Janney includes "Margaret," "Pretty Ugly People" and "Hairspray."
