Jessica Biel's Ready to 'Die'
'Stealth' star will produce and star in the thriller
According to the industry trade papers, Biel's Iron Ocean Films shingle optioned Megan Abbott's novel, which was original set in 1954, but will be moved to the present day in Marcia and Geoffrey Blake's adaptation.
The novel focuses on a schoolteacher and her LAPD brother and the complications that arise when a mysterious woman enters their lives.
Richard Gladstein's FilmColony banner will produce with Iron Ocean.
Take this casting news with a grain of salt, because there's nothing Variety loves as much as advancing a good Biel casting rumor. It was only a month ago that the trade said Biel was in talks to play Wonder Woman in George Miller's "Justice League of America," talks that appear to have led the director to audition a slew of other young actresses.
Up next for the "Illusionist" and "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" star is the ensemble drama "Powder Blue," which also features Forest Whitaker, Patrick Swayze and Ray Liotta.
