'Hairspray' Star Meets 'Harold'
Nikki Blonsky, Ally Sheedy and Colin Quinn join indie comedy
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blonsky has joined the cast of the indie teen comedy "Harold," along with Ally Sheedy and Colin Quinn.
Spencer Breslin plays the prematurely aging title character, with Sheedy as his mother. Quinn plays a barfly at the strip club Harold frequents. Cuba Gooding Jr., also a producer on the project, play a janitor who befriends Harold.
Blonsky, picked out of a talent search to star in "Hairspray," will play Harold's nerdy best friend.
Coincidentally, "Harold" is filming in Great Neck, NY, Blonsky's hometown.
An Independent Spirit Award winner for "High Art," Sheedy's other credits include "Short Circuit," "The Breakfast Club" and "WarGames."
Quinn has starred in "The Colin Quinn Show" and "Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn." In both cases, he played the eponymous Colin Quinn.
