Cruise Hype 'Mission' Hits Tribeca Fest
Tom Cruise is everywhere. Check under your couch.
Assuming he isn't at home with Katie Holmes and his hypothetical new child, Cruise will be spending May 3 running around Manhattan promoting "M:i:III." The mega-star will do everything possible to pimp his new blockbuster except, apparently, talk to radio, online and non-essential print press.
Cruise's busy day will include an appearance on "TRL." A press release from the Tribeca Fest boasts that "Traveling by motorcycle, speedboat, taxicab, helicopter, sports car, and subway, Cruise will crisscross the island, making his way to premieres in Tribeca and Harlem before heading to the U.S. premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre (141 West 54th St.), hosted in conjunction with the Tribeca Film Festival."
Whee!
"We're thrilled to be bringing 'M:i:III' to the Tribeca Film Festival as a part of 'Mission: NYC,'" says Paula Wagner, producer of the film. "Tom has always enjoyed finding new ways to connect with the fans and we're both excited to be sharing the movie with them on this incredible stage."
Tribeca Fest co-founder Jane Rosenthal adds, "We are delighted to host director J.J. Abrams, Tom and the cast as we celebrate our own mission impossible -- the fifth Tribeca Film Festival in only four years."
The Tribeca Film Festival will take place from April 25 - May 7, 2006.
"Mission: Impossible III" will open everywhere on May 5.
