"Buffy" veteran Danny Strong will adapt Washington Post article

Danny Strong is going from election to another.

Strong will write "The Butler," based on the Washington Post article "A Butler Well Served By This Election," sources say.

The article follows Eugene Allen, a former White House butler who served presidents for more than 30 years before retiring. Part of the story followed Allen, who is African-American, and his wife as they voted for and then watched the victory of Barack Obama. We won't spoil the ending other than to say it's sure to jerk tears in the theater.

Strong wrote HBO's 2008 movie "Recount," which followed voter confusion, hanging chads and more during the 2000 presidential election. He also co-starred as Jonathan on the television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
