Baby is due in the spring

Derek Luke will soon be able to add "father" to his list of roles.

The "Catch a Fire" actor and his wife, actress Sophia, are expecting a child in March, reports People.

The two actors married in 1998. This will be their first child together.

Luke, 32, made his film debut in Denzel Washington's "Antwone Fisher." The role won him best actor honors at the 2003 Independent Spirit Awards, where he brought his wife onstage during his acceptance speech.

Luke's other credits include "Pieces of April," "Biker Boyz," "Friday Night Lights" and "Glory Road." His latest film is the political thriller "Catch a Fire," which opens Friday, Oct. 27.
