Indie brings together Bruce and Laura Dern plus Diane Ladd

It will be a family affair on the set of "Hart's Location" for first-time director Bruce Dern.

The respected acting vet has wooed daughter Laura Dern and ex-wife Diane Ladd for the independent project, which will shoot in in Louisiana.

Since Dern is also going to co-star in the project, "Hart's Location" will have the distinction of being the first time in cinematic history that three Academy Award nominated actors from the same family have appeared together on-screen. Or at least it's the first time we can remember.

"Hart's Location" is written by playwright Ashley Reed and is reportedly a dark story of a mother's sacrifice, a father's redemption and a daughter's journey for revenge.

Financing on the pic is still coming together, though Dern will produce through his Harry Rose Productions banner.

If you're scoring at home, Bruce Dern's Oscar nod came for "Coming Home." Ladd and Laura Dern set Academy history when they both picked up nominations for "Rambling Rose," while Ladd also picked up nominations for "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" and "Wild at Heart."
