Eddie Murphy Is Spice Baby Daddy
DNA proves that he fathered a child with Melanie Brown
Eddie Murphy has turned out to be the father of Melanie Brown's, aka Scary Spice, baby, reports Us Weekly.
The "Daddy Day Care" star finally submitted to a blood test mid-June. The baby was born April 3, sharing a birthday with her father. Brown had been convinced that Murphy was the father and named her daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown accordingly.
Murphy, who officially divorced his wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy last April, began seeing Brown two months later. It was assumed at the time that he was responsible for her pregnancy. By December, however, Murphy had begun dating Tracey Edmonds and publicly questioned whether or not he was the father of Brown's baby.
"I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test," Murphy said on a Dutch TV show in December when asked Brown's pregnancy. "You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir."
Murphy, 46, received an Oscar nomination for his supporting role in "Dreamgirls." His other recent credits include the "Shrek" films, "Doctor Dolittle 2," "The Haunted Mansion" and "Norbit." He'll reprise his voice as Donkey in the upcoming "Shrek the Third."
Brown, 31, also has a big-screen credit, the oh so memorable "Spice World." In 2004, she played the role of Mimi in the musical "Rent" on Broadway. Lately, there's been buzz about a possible Spice Girls reunion.
