'Scary' Gal Loves a 'Mama's Boy'
Anna Faris will join Jon Heder and Diane Keaton in comedy
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anna Faris has joined the cast of Warner Independent's "Mama's Boy," playing a romantic foil for once-and-future "Napoleon Dynamite" star Jon Heder.
Heder will play a slacker still living at home with his loving mother (Oscar winner Diane Keaton). When mom takes up with a self-help guru (Jeff Daniels) everything changes for the titular hero. Faris' character will be a singer-songwriter.
The trade paper anticipates "Mama's Boy" beginning production in mid-June in Los Angeles with Tim Hamilton at the helm.
In addition to her starring roles in all four "Scary Movie" films, Faris has been seen in supporting parts in Oscar winners "Lost in Translation" and "Brokeback Mountain." She'll next appear this summer in "My Super Ex-Girlfriend," followed by the lead in Gregg Araki's "Smiley Face."
