'Terminator' Will Be Back

Though "Terminator: Salvation" isn't scheduled to hit theaters until May 2009, Variety says a fifth film in the killer cyborg series is already in the works. "Salvation" director McG has begun preparations with franchise owners Halcyon Co. for a possible 2011 release.

Bad news for "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" star Nick Stahl and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'" Thomas Dekker: Christian Bale, who plays freedom fighter John Connor in "Salvation," is locked down for the fifth and potentially sixth films.

The movies and television series follow Sarah and John Connor, whose future opposition to rogue artificial intelligence Skynet makes them targets for villainous robot assassins.
