Gary Sanchez Picks On 'King Dork'
Paramount Vantage will house the project
The adaptation of Frank Portman's debut novel will go under Gary Sanchez's first-look deal with Paramount Vantage.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "King Dork" focuses on an unhappy 14-year-old boy who discovers his late father's copy of "The Catcher in the Rye," changing his life.
"Chris and Adam assured me this book, once turned into a movie, will make $500 million domestic," says Sanchez, who doesn't exist, in a statement. "If it does not, I will hit each of their hands with a hammer."
McKay, Ferrell and Chris Henchy will produce for Gary Sanchez.
Ferrell's latest film, "Stranger than Fiction," took in more than $13 million in its first week in wide release.
