Set up at New Regency, the film will feature its leading ladies as long-time best friends who make one spectacular mistake: They schedule their weddings on the same day.
When neither one will back down, they go head-to-head for all of the typical wedding accoutrements, escalating tensions every step of the way.
According to the industry trades, the script by June Diane Raphael and Casey Wilson was finished pre-strike and is ready to shoot early next year with Gary Winick directing.
Last seen in "Becoming Jane" and "The Devil Wears Prada," Hathaway has finished work on "Get Smart" and "Passengers," both set for release in 2008.
