Heard will appear with Rogen and Franco

Amber Heard has scored a lead female role in "The Pineapple Express," a stoner comedy written by and starring Seth Rogen.

The film features Rogen ("Knocked Up") and James Franco ("Spider-Man 3) as 420-friendly buddies who somehow become involved in a drug gang. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Heard will play the disapproving girlfriend of Rogen's character.

"The Pineapple Express" is directed by indie favorite David Gordon Green ("George Washington") and produced by Judd Apatow and Shauna Robertson.

If you don't know Heard yet, you probably will very soon. Probably most familiar as the young Charlize Theron in "North Country," the 21-year-old actress is one of the stars of The CW's summer drama "Hidden Palms," from producer Kevin Williamson ("Dawson's Creek"). In addition, her work as the title character in "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane" earned strong buzz at last fall's Toronto Film Festival.
