Huston Takes a Bite Out of Vampire Role
George and Hartnett are already in place
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Danny Huston will play the leader of a marauding gang of vampires in the comic book adaptation "30 Days of Night," a project in production at Columbia Pictures.
Written and directed by the "Hard Candy" team of David Slade and Brian Nelson, "30 Days of Night" comes from the comic by Steve Niles. Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert are producing "30 Days" for their Ghost House shingle.
The plot involves a small town in Alaska that comes under attack by a group of vampires at the most inopportune of times -- just as the city is preparing for a month of total darkness. Josh Hartnett and Melissa George will play a husband-and-wife sheriff team fighting the vampire advances.
Shooting begins this month in New Zealand.
Huston is one of the busiest supporting actors in the business with upcoming roles in "Marie Antoinette," "Children of Men" and "Fade to Black." His recent credits include "The Constant Gardener," "The Aviator" and "The Proposition."
