Black Soon to Be a Tenacious Dad
Actor and new wife expecting baby boy in June
The comedian and his musician wife Tanya Haden are expecting a boy in early June, reports USA Today. This will be their first child together.
"I think I will be good when it comes to playtime," announced the actor while promoting "Nacho Libre." "I don't know how good I'll do with the discipline."
Black, 36, has had had success playing around with kids on the big screen in "School of Rock," a formula he repeats for the upcoming "Nacho Libre."
He and Haden, 34, met in high school, but didn't date then. Shortly after Black split with longtime girlfriend, comedian Laura Kightlinger, at the beginning of 2005, he reconnected with Haden at a mutual friend's birthday party where Tenacious D was performing.
They began dating soon after. Black proposed just after Christmas, and they eloped in March. Haden is a musician who plays the cello with her fellow triplet sisters Rachel and Petra.
Black already has plans for his particular brand of child-rearing. "Wherever the job goes, the baby is just going to come with me It will work out," he jokes, adding, "I don't really get involved until he's, like, 10."
"Nacho Libre," in which Black plays a Lucha Libre wrestler who raises money for an orphanage, leaps into theaters nationwide on Friday, June 16. In September, he begins filming Michel Gondry's "Be Kind, Rewind," about a man whose magnetic brain erases videotapes.
