Black Bags Role of 'Thunder'
Actor teams up with former co-star Ben Stiller
The "King Kong" actor will reteam with his ol' pal Ben Stiller or "Tropic Thunder," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The DreamWorks/Red Hour Films picture revolves around the production of a big-budget war movie. Through a series of freak occurrences, everything goes SNAFU and somehow the actors end up having to actually be the soldiers they're portraying in order to survive.
Robert Downey Jr. and Jay Baruchel have already signed on to co-star.
The strange plot is based on a screenplay by Stiller (who is also helming), Justin Theroux and Etan Cohen. Production is scheduled to begin in July.
Black last collaborated with Stiller in 2004's "Envy." Black's other films include "High Fidelity," "Orange County," "School of Rock," "Nacho Libre" and "Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny." His upcoming films include "Margot at the Wedding," "Be Kind, Rewind" and the animated "Kung Fu Panda."
