'Jonah Hex' Finds Direction

Jimmy Hayward has been tapped to direct the comic-book adaptation, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Josh Brolin will star as the title character, a DC Comics Wild West gunslinger who often found himself battling supernatural enemies.

Hayward is no stranger to cartoon characters: He previously led the CGI version of "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!" starring Jim Carrey and Steve Carell.

Brolin, 40, played President George W. Bush in Oliver Stone's "W."
