The Jonas Brothers Are Going 3-D
Kevin, Joe and Nick will hit the big screen, following in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus
According to Variety, Bruce Hendricks, director of the "Hannah Montana" concert film, will direct the project, which will combine footage from the Jonas Brothers' upcoming Burning Up concert tour, as well as behind the scenes documentary material on Kevin, Joe and Nick.
The "Hannah Montana" feature was originally planned as a one-week-only piece of 3-D counterprogramming to the Super Bowl, opening on a relatively modest 683 screens. In its first weekend, the film grossed a whopping $31.1 million, prompting Disney to extend a run that ended up hauling in roughly $65 million.
The trade doesn't offer a potential release date for the Jonas Brothers pic.
It will be a busy summer for the singing siblings. Their reality series "Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream" will begin airing on the Disney Channel on May 16. The telefilm "Camp Rock" will premiere on the Disney Channel on June 20 and the Burning Up tour will launch in Toronto on July 4.
