Original director Steven Lisberger will produce

Last than a month after signing on to remake "Logan's Run," commercial director Joseph Kosinski is about to book another nostalgic gig.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kosinski is in final negotiations to develop and direct a sequel to the 1982 effects classic "Tron."

Sean Bailey's Live Planet banner will produce along with the original film's co-writer and director Steven Lisberger. Although the exact plot is shrouded in mystery (apathy?), "Lost" veterans Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will write the script.

The original film starred Jeff Bridges as a computer programmer who gets sucked into the world of a popular game where he's forced to compete in a variety of gladiator-style games. "Tron" pioneered the use of computer-generated effects in film, a process so far ahead of its time that the movie wasn't even nominated for a special effects Oscar (it earned a sound nomination, plus a nod for its profoundly silly costumes).

Kosinski's credits include award-winning ads for Nike, Apple and Nintendo. He was recently recruited to take on Joel Silver's long-gestating "Logan's Run" remake, which is set up at Warner Bros.
