'Tomb Raider' Hits Reset Button
New film will reboot franchise without Angelina Jolie
Warner Bros. is looking to reboot the "Tomb Raider" movie series just as game publisher Eidos -- of which Warner Bros. owns a stake -- is revamping the games with "Tomb Raider: Underworld," according to The Hollywood Reporter. While details are still sketchy, early word is that the movie would ignore the previous two film installments and their star, Angelina Jolie.
Jolie, 33, starred in 2001's "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" and its 2003 sequel, "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life."
The video games follow treasure hunter -- okay, let's be honest, tomb raider -- Lara Croft as she seeks out mysterious artifacts across the globe.
