Latifah Scores 'All of Me' Remake
Shankman will produce...
Adam Shankman is currently only slated to produce the comedy, currently set up at New Line, according to the industry trade papers.
Latifah will executive produce and star as an African American activist who finds herself stuck in the body of a conservative. The project is based on the 1984 comedy that featured Lily Tomlin as a spoiled heiress who ends up in the body of her lawyer (Latifah's "House" co-star Steve Martin). Body-swapping hilarity ensues, though the new premise sounds awfully similar to the 1990 semi-comedy "Heart Condition," which featured Denzel Washington and Bob Hoskins.
The other lead role has yet to be cast.
The 1984 original "All of Me" earned Golden Globe nominations for both of its stars.
Most recently seen in "Stranger Than Fiction" and "Last Holiday," Latifah has "Hairspray" coming out this summer and "Mad Money" now in production.
