Lindsay Lohan Sued for Damaging Van
Incident occurred in 2005
A company is suing the "Georgia Rule" actress in small claims court over a company van that she allegedly damaged back in 2005, report news sources.
The October incident occurred on Los Angeles' trendy Robertson Boulevard. LiLo reportedly was traveling north in her black Mercedes convertible when she hit a maroon Chevy Astro van that was completing an illegal U-turn. That van then plowed into a white van belonging to Grandeur Inc., which is seeking $3,624.84 in damages.
When Lohan didn't respond to a letter containing a bill for the damage, Grandeur filed a claim on May 18 at the Beverly Hills Courthouse. A judge will hear the mattter on Wednesday, June 20.
At the time of the 2005 accident, Lohan had claimed that she was evading the paparazzi, but the police could find no evidence of such pursuit. The May previous, photographer Galo Ramirez was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for intentionally ramming Lohan's vehicle.
The actress, who turns 21 on July 2, is currently checked into Malibu's Promises Residential Treatment Center after a wild Memorial holiday weekend during which she was booked on suspicion of DUI after she crashed her Mercedes into a stand of trees on Sunset Blvd. The Beverly Hills Police Department also reportedly found a "usable amount" of cocaine in a subsequent search.
She is expected to spend 30 days at the facility.
Lohan's latest films include "Herbie: Fully Loaded," "A Prairie Home Companion," "Just My Luck" and "Bobby."
