"Wrong Turn 3" director will remake 1960 movie

The "Wrong Turn 3" director is making a run at a horror-comedy classic.

Declan O'Brien, whose installment of the "Wrong Turn" series will go straight to video, has secured the rights to remake "The Little Shop of Horrors," according to Web site ShockTillYouDrop.com.

Don't expect Audrey, Seymour and the rest to sing, though. O'Brien will remake schlockmeister Roger Corman's 1960 version (which co-starred a young Jack Nicholson) rather than Frank Oz's Broadway-inspired 1986 version.

Sounds like the new version may also ditch its predecessors' light tone:

"I have a take on it you're not going to expect," O'Brien told ShockTillYouDrop. "I'm taking it in a different direction, let's put it that way."
