Alison Lohman Replaces Page in 'Hell'
Scheduling conflicts caused the 'Juno' star to bail late last week
According to the industry trade papers, Alison Lohman will now take the lead role in the Ghost House/ Mandate Pictures film, set to be distributed by Universal.
"Juno" Oscar nominee Page was set to star in the film, which focuses on a young woman who somehow takes on a supernatural curse, but a shift in production start from March 17 caused scheduling conflicts for the busy young actress.
Because Raimi was able to track down Lohman for the lead role just days after Page's departure, "Drag Me to Hell" can still start shooting on March 31.
At 28, Lohman is several years older than Page, the "Pasadena" and "Matchstick Men" veteran is no stranger to playing far younger than her actual age. As recently as 2006, Lohman played a high school student in "Flicka." She was most recently seen in "Things We Lost in the Fire" and in pixilated form in "Beowulf."
