Porn Star Plans Second Gubernatorial Run
Carey is only 163,960 signatures short of making the ballot
She's ready to try again.
On Wednesday (Aug. 9), Carey (Mary "Mary Carey" Cook on your ballot, but Mary Carey in your heart) announced her intentions to launch a 2006 gubernatorial campaign, repeatedly expressing her desire to be taken more seriously.
"I think I'm more serious now," Carey told reporters. "As you can see I'm dressed more seriously. I've got brown in my hair because brunettes are taken more seriously."
Not surprisingly, the "Boobsville Sorority Girls" star expressed a desire to be embraced by younger male viewers, revealing the slogan "Finally, a politician you want to be screwed by."
So far, Carey is taking things slowly. Independent candidates for governor need 164,000 signatures to register. Carey has 40. She also has a college student as her campaign manager.
In the 2003 recall election, Carey received 10,114 votes. Coleman got 12,690. The star of "Jingle All the Way" received 3,744,132.
Carey, who has described herself as a Republican in the past, is 26, according to her IMDB page. Her credits include "Lesbian Big Boob Bangeroo 2," "Dirty Girlz" and "Bosom Buddies 6," a sequel which starred neither Tom Hanks nor Peter Scolari.
