Director will tackle prequel to Jules Verne novel

Yes, Disney has a new "Nemo" project. No, it's not further adventures of the CGI fish. And now "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo" has a director.

McG will take the helm of the latest version of Jules Verne's novel, according to Variety. This time, though, the family-friendly film will cover Nemo's past, including his construction of the amazing submarine Nautilus. Verne's novel "The Mysterious Island" does paint a dark picture of Nemo's past, including the deaths of his wife and children. No word on how that will be portrayed in the Disney film.

McG's most recent project is "Terminator: Salvation," which is set to hit theaters in May.
