Poehler Will Be Fey's 'Baby Mama'
Pregnancy comedy would have a summer start
The "Saturday Night Live" stars will be working with former "SNL" scribe Michael McCullers, who will make his feature directing debut after co-writing the two "Austin Powers" sequels.
According to Variety, the film focuses on a single career woman who wants to have a child, but doesn't want to skip a professional beat. She hires a surrogate, which leads to heaping spoonfuls of funny. If their established roles are any indication, Fey would play the career woman, though the trade paper doesn't get into specifics.
"Baby Mama" wouldn't begin production until next summer, once Poehler has completed her latest "SNL" season and Fey has finished her first season as star and executive producer on NBC's "30 Rock."
Poehler's busy upcoming feature film schedule includes roles in "Spring Breakdown," "Southland Tales," "Tenacious D in 'The Pick of Destiny'" and "Blades of Glory."
Fey wrote and co-starred in the hit "Mean Girls."
